Hello!

I am a dance/theatre maker, movement director, community organiser and facilitator. For the past 15 years my work has spanned the worlds of dance/theatre, community organising, facilitation and movement building: working with theatre and dance companies, organisations and communities at local, national and international levels.

As a movement director and deviser, I have collaborated on shows and worked for companies and venues inclusive of National Theatre Connections, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Bittersuite, California Rep’ LA, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Dulwich College South Korea, Norwich & Norfolk Festival, The Egg, Bath and The Royal Opera House, UK. I’ve danced under direction of Jo Fong, Mata Sakka for Sasha Waltz & Guests, Vanessa Cook Dance, HumansMove and Seven Sisters Dance among others, and was a company member for multi-sensory immersive performance company Bittersuite, from 2012 -2019. I am an associate movement director for Frantic Assembly, since 2020. As a freelancer I work collaboratively with an array of artists and makers across live art disciplines, most recently collaborating on works for stage, high street and green spaces with ThisEgg & Josie Dale-Jones, Art Business Ltd and Raquel Meseguer-Zafe (Unchartered Collective, Lost Dog).

I am a co-director of Gather Up, a platform for training and networking for professional dance practitioners in Bristol, based out of The Bristol Old Vic. (More about that here.) I am also a creative audio describer for dance and theatre, and co-authored Racial Equity Guidelines for Audio Describers in association with Holly Thomas, Raquel Meseguer-Zafe and The South West Site Loss Council, advocating for racial equity within accessible practice.

Weaving my roles as creative with that of social justice movement building, I am practitioner of embodied practices, utilising somatic tools for resilience, connection and empowerment drawing from somatic practices such as Body Mind Centering, experiential anatomy, yoga, co-regulation and rave. I co-facilitate a regenerative activism space for global majority organisers at Ulex, Spain, as well as facilitate spaces for creative approaches to social movement building. (More here!)

WHAT MAKES ME TICK?

I’m interested in the role art has in cultivating and creating space for resistance, resilience and joy. I have developed a practice that incorporates a variety of creative disciplines inclusive of using movement, play, sound, verbatim, creative writing, immersive & multi-sensory theatre making. Particularly seeking to make and participate in work for non-conventional performance spaces. (although big theatres are also fun too…)

I am always keen to form new collaborative relationships and have a strong belief that dance, theatre & performance should reflect and represent a diverse range of voices, experiences and bodies, and that it be a mirror to current society . Currently my work extends into creating collaborative practices that explore structures of power and privilege, with a current focus on re-commoning and collectivism.
